Benefits of Having a Good Recliner

There’s nothing quite as relaxing as coming home at the end of an exhausting day, putting your feet up, and enjoying some down time in a nice recliner.

If you’re looking for a comfortable place to lounge, that might even be good for your health, consider purchasing a quality recliner.

Sitting in a recliner can help your body unwind, especially if you spend most of your time sitting at a desk. Many of us practice poor posture without knowing it, which means that we spend time essentially hunched over at our desk. Sitting in a recliner that is extended can help realign your spine by offsetting your body’s normal forward posture.

Leaning backwards in a recliner can also help to take pressure off of your spine. If you’ve ever had sore feet at the end of long day, you know that taking a break and elevating your feet can help them feel better.

Reclining is good for sore feet because it helps improve circulation in your body, which can reduce swelling. Standing or sitting for the majority of your day can result in blood settling in the lower half of your body which often results in swollen, painful limbs.

A reclining motion allows your lungs to open up so that you can breathe deeply. While you take in extra oxygen, your body will start to relax which helps you de-stress. Stress is often the cause of headaches, depression, heart disease, asthma, and more. If you can manage to get in a brief period of rest during the day in a recliner, in addition to a full night’s sleep, you will likely see an improvement in your overall mood.

Conway Furniture has a wide variety of recliners available. Consider purchasing one to benefit from the concept of reclining.
