Currently Trending: Interior Design Looks We Love for 2018

Want to change up your home but not sure exactly what you want to do? It’s easy to fall into a rut and become reluctant to making design changes.

If this spring you decide to take the plunge, we’ve compiled some of the trending design looks for 2018 which will inspire you to make a move.

Maximalism

If the past few years have been about minimalism, right now maximalism is trending. Consider ditching your neutrals-only mindset and throw in some color! Bright-coloured walls, patterned throw pillows, and fun wall art all add eye-catching elements to any room. If you want to ease in to the trend, consider a chair in a solid colour other than beige or black like this red Maier Accent Chair. Then you can add more flavour with funky pillows or blankets.

Velvet Sofas

This year, we love all things velvet in a living room or bedroom. Adding in a beautiful, plush sofa provides so much comfort and gives any room a different feel. You may not realize the effect that texture has on the aesthetic of a room, but once you add in some velvet elements you may be pleasantly surprised with the results.

Geometric Furniture

Once again, we’re advising you to consider leaving behind the minimalism trend and consider furniture pieces that make a statement. A geometric piece like this Allure Cocktail table is gorgeous and a surefire conversation starter. Add an element of surprise with a piece like this.

Statement Ceilings

Are you bored of looking up at a stark white ceiling? Changing up your ceiling can completely transform a room. Consider painting it a bold colour or using patterned wallpaper to mix it up. If you’re lukewarm on the idea, even just painting the ceiling a muted color other than white can breathe new life into the room.
